The following activity groups are run by members and generate a lot of interest. If you would like to come along to any of the groups do please get in touch with the Steward, Steward@thenorfolkclub.co.uk.
Members are very welcome to bring friends who are not members of the Norfolk Club to all meetings, as long as they are added to the visitors book and announced to the Stewards.
Meets every last Tuesday of the month. List of books set annually by members at Christmas.
Are held on the first Wednesday of the month, as well as a series of intermediate Bridge lessons on the third and fourth Wednesday of the month. Please sign in on the notice board.
Members arrange the series of monthly City Walks, lead by expert guides, around Norwich and its cultural treasures. Each event will be announced in a flyer online and on the notice board. Please note that the cost/charges for each walk differ.
Our monthly Friday Club cocktails are well attended and a great way to meet fellow members, while trying out the Stewards’ latest cocktails. These evenings are generally held on the 2nd Friday of the month.
Spanish, Italian and French Conversation Groups
Monthly language conversation groups are lead by professional tutors.
The History group continues with monthly meetings delving into local history, the Middle East and relevant historic topics, followed by interesting discussions, held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (except July and August).
A new group in 2018, that meets on the second Monday of the month, discussing all aspects of psychology, lead by expert speakers from the field.
An annual programme of monthly Speakers’ lunches is arranged, showcasing some remarkable and knowledgeable speakers and local and national specialists following a Club Lunch.
We are planning to organise another Club snooker championship as well as an inter-club Snooker tournament against other clubs. Please contact the Secretary to compete firstname.lastname@example.org.
Theatre Group and Museum Visits
There are several evening and matinee theatre visits planned for this season as well as visits to exhibitions in the main Norfolk museums. New this season will be the Curators’ Introductions by exhibitions’ curators at the Club. In some cases, these will be combined with a City walk to the museum.
Throughout the year several other seasonal activities are organised, like sailing, shooting, cricket, gardening, theatre and other cultural visits, film club, music appreciation, etc.
The Club is happy to encourage and support any interests and activities for our members, so please do not hesitate to contact the Club Secretary if you would like to join any of the groups above, or need help to set up a group yourself.
